Chelsea are without Juan Mata for the visit of Wigan to Stamford Bridge, but Eden Hazard is available again after completing his suspension.

A virus has restricted Juan Mata to a place on the Chelsea bench for the visit of Wigan Athletic this afternoon.

The Spaniard has been a standout player for the Blues this season, but his absence is compensated by the return of Eden Hazard, who has missed Chelsea's last three matches after being sent off for kicking a Swansea City ball boy.

Nigerian duo John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses are still unavailable due to their Africa Cup of Nations commitments.

Cesar Azpilicueta is recalled in defence as John Terry misses out through injury, while Fernando Torres is preferred to Demba Ba up front.

Wigan are unchanged from the side that scored late to draw 2-2 with Southampton last weekend.

Striker Arouna Kone has returned from the Africa Cup of Nations to take his place on a Latics bench that also includes Jordi Gomez and Manchester United loanee Angelo Henriquez.

Chelsea: Cech; Azpilicueta, Ivanovic, Cahill, Cole; Luiz, Lampard; Ramires, Oscar, Hazard; Torres

Wigan: Al-Habsi; Stam, Caldwell, Scharner, Figueroa, Beausejour; McCarthy, Espinoza, McArthur; Maloney; Di Santo
