Chelsea have developed into a major force on the domestic and European stage during the Premier League era, with Roman Abramovich's acquisition of the club in 2003 being largely responsible for changing the entire landscape of English football.

Bloated transfer fees suddenly became the norm and success followed for the Blues, with only Manchester United having lifted the Premier League trophy more times than Chelsea.

Indeed, since Abramovich's takeover, Chelsea are the joint most successful team in English football, winning five Premier League titles in addition to four FA Cups, three League Cups, the Champions League and the Europa League.

The explosion of money and success led to Chelsea bringing a new calibre of player to Stamford Bridge, and some of them have gone on to establish themselves among the greatest to have ever played in the Premier League.

Here, to celebrate 25 years of the competition, Sports Mole counts down the 25 greatest Chelsea players of the Premier League era.
