Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has contacted Kevin de Bruyne to outline his plans for the midfielder next season, according to the player's agent.
De Bruyne had been linked with a potential move to Borussia Dortmund, but agent Patrick de Koster has revealed that the Belgian international is "very happy" to remain at Stamford Bridge.
De Koster told Goal.com: "Kevin spoke to Jose Mourinho on the phone while he was in America and he clearly expressed that he wants him to play a part at Chelsea next season.
"Mourinho told him that he wants to make him a better player and this is very good news.
"The desire of Kevin is just to play football and now he has received the news that Mourinho sees a role for him at Chelsea, he is very happy to stay."
The 21-year-old scored 10 goals in 33 games on loan at Werder Bremen last season.
