Bordeaux have reportedly identified Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud as a potential summer signing.
Giroud has only played a bit-part role under Blues head coach Maurizio Sarri, and the Frenchman currently has less than three months remaining on his contract.
The 32-year-old's deal could possibly be extended by a further year, but according to L'Equipe, Bordeaux are keen to hand Giroud a return to his homeland.
The World Cup winner has been linked with a number of teams in Ligue 1, and Bordeaux will be in search of reinforcements during the summer after a poor domestic campaign.
Giroud has contributed 11 goals for Chelsea this season, but all but two of those strikes have come in the Europa League.
