Cesc Fabregas reveals Real Madrid talks

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas reveals that he held talks with Real Madrid "over the space of several years", but a move never came to fruition.

Cesc Fabregas has revealed that he held talks with Real Madrid 'across several years', but a move to Los Blancos never came to fruition.

The 28-year-old started his professional career at Arsenal, before returning to hometown club Barcelona in 2011 following an eight-year spell in England.

Now with Chelsea, Fabregas has revealed that he could have turned out in the colours of Real Madrid had things been different.

"Well, there was contact with different presidents over the space of several years, but no deal was ever struck. We discussed terms, but nothing final was ever agreed. That decisive step was never taken," Fabregas told Marca.

Fabregas helped Chelsea win the 2014-15 Premier League title during his first season with the Blues.
