Chelsea have reportedly held discussions with Edinson Cavani's representatives over a move to Stamford Bridge.
The Napoli striker is believed to be a transfer target of numerous European clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City and Liverpool.
However, the Blues have stolen a march on their rivals by holding initial talks on Friday afternoon, according to The Sun on Sunday.
It is believed that Cavani's current Italian employers will demand at least £30m for his services.
The 25-year-old has scored 26 goals this season in all competitions.
