Chelsea are reportedly eyeing up a move for Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule in the summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old has failed to nail down a regular starting place with the German giants and has seen both Jerome Boateng and David Alaba preferred ahead of him.
Even though Boateng, Alaba and Javi Martinez could all leave the club at the end of the season when their contracts expire, Sule's future also remains uncertain, despite Hansi Flick stating that he remains a valuable member of his squad.
According to German news outlet Abendzeitung Munchen, several top clubs in Europe are interested in the centre-back, with Chelsea currently expressing the most interest in the player.
Blues boss Thomas Tuchel, who is expected to recruit at least one new central defender in the summer transfer window, is understood to be an admirer of Sule and is vying for him 'intensely'.
Bayern have already been busy making plans for next season after confirming the signing of RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano, a deal which will see the Frenchman join the club from July 1.
Sule, who has a contract with the Bundesliga champions until June 2022, has made 14 appearances in the league so far this campaign, as well as starting four times in the Champions League.
