Chelsea 'lining up £200m spending spree'

Chelsea's summer spending could reach £200m as head coach Frank Lampard targets more signings, according to a report.

Chelsea are reportedly set to spend £200m during this summer's transfer window, despite already completing deals for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.

The Blues have boosted their attacking options for next season by bringing both Ziyech and Werner to the club, while Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz continues to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

According to The Mirror, head coach Frank Lampard wants at least three more signings this summer, with Leicester City's Ben Chilwell and West Ham United's Declan Rice priorities alongside Havertz.

The report claims that a new number one goalkeeper could also arrive due to Kepa Arrizabalaga's struggles, meaning that the club's spending ahead of next season could reach £200m.

Chelsea are thought to be prepared to pay £60m for Havertz this summer, but Leverkusen have insisted that they will not sell the Germany international on the cheap and could hold out for £90m.

The capital giants finished fourth in the 2019-20 Premier League table to ensure that they would be present in next season's Champions League.
