Chelsea are reportedly considering approaches for Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak and Porto's Diogo Costa, both of whom are competing for their nations at Euro 2024.

Chelsea are reportedly running the rule over a pair of goalkeepers competing for their nations at Euro 2024 as Enzo Maresca seeks to strengthen his options in between the posts.

The arrival of Mauricio Pochettino in West London last season also saw Robert Sanchez take over the gloves from Edouard Mendy, who ended his Blues stint to join Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ahli.

Sanchez quickly established himself as Chelsea's number one, but he failed to set Stamford Bridge alight with his performances and lost his spot in goal to Djordje Petrovic following an injury.

Petrovic ended the campaign as Pochettino's first-choice shot-stopper, leading to speculation over Sanchez's future at Stamford Bridge, while Kepa Arrizabalaga is likely to be sold once he returns from his Real Madrid loan spell.

Chelsea also have Gabriel Slonina coming through the ranks, but the 20-year-old is not yet ready for regular Premier League football, and Maresca seemingly does not view Petrovic as an established number one just yet.

Chelsea 'weighing up' Diogo Costa, Jan Oblak moves

According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea's search for a new number one has led them to consider Porto's Diogo Costa and Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak, both of whom are gunning for glory with their nations at Euro 2024.

Costa has taken over from Rui Patricio as Portugal's number one and helped the Selecao scrape a 2-1 win over the Czech Republic in their opening game, while Oblak captained Slovenia to an applaudable 1-1 draw with Denmark.

Chelsea are now thought to be monitoring the performances of both players at the Euros, where Oblak and Slovenia will be back in action against Group C rivals Serbia on Thursday afternoon.

The 31-year-old has been heralded as one of the finest goalkeepers on the planet during his time with Diego Simeone's Atletico, keeping 207 clean sheets in 446 matches and clinching the 2020-21 La Liga crown.

Oblak recorded another 16 shut-outs in 54 appearances during the 2023-24 season and still has four years left to run on his Atletico deal, but a move to the Premier League has been mooted for some time.

Meanwhile, Portugal and Porto number one Costa would represent a more youthful option at 24, but his long-running contract until 2027 may also harm Chelsea's efforts to bring him to the Premier League.

With 64 clean sheets in 154 matches for Sergio Conceicao's side, Costa has helped Porto win eight major trophies, and he was named the Primeira Liga Goalkeeper of the Season in 2021-22 and 2022-23.

What other deals are Chelsea working on?

As well as pursuing a new goalkeeper, a fresh face in attack is of the utmost priority for the Blues, who are believed to be keeping tabs on RB Leipzig's Lois Openda, Aston Villa's Jhon Duran and Atletico Madrid's Samu Omorodion, the latter of whom they have supposedly had a bid rejected for.

Maresca's side are also pushing to sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, having been snubbed last year despite triggering his £35m release clause, as the Frenchman penned a new deal with a £60m option.

Palace have apparently offered Olise another renewal in order to ward off the Blues and Newcastle United, but Chelsea are still confident of prising him away from Selhurst Park.
