Chelsea are reportedly set to revive their interest in signing Jules Kounde after the club was unable to secure his signature during the summer transfer market.
The Blues were heavily linked with the Sevilla defender throughout the summer, but the two clubs were not able to reach an agreement in price to make a deal happen.
It is well known that Thomas Tuchel wants to bolster his defensive options, and Kounde is someone that the manager is interested in, which is why Chelsea have not given up on signing him.
The club did push to make a deal happen in the final days of the summer transfer window, but the Blues were not willing to meet his £68m release clause.
However, according to the Evening Standard, the current European champions will be continuing to monitor Kounde with a possible move either in January or the next summer market.
Chelsea did sell Kurt Zouma to West Ham United during the summer to make room for a new face, but the club did not end up signing a central defender and will have to rely upon those already under contract until at least January.
