Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles has reportedly remained as a target of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
The two London clubs have been strongly linked with Lascelles in the past, but the centre-back's new contract at St James' Park appeared to put any approach on the backburner.
However, according to Chronicle Live, both teams continue to keep an eye on the 24-year-old ahead of a possible bid in the January transfer window.
Newcastle remain in a strong position regarding Lascelles's future, but the Magpies will be aware that relegation from the Premier League may result in lower offers being made during the summer.
There appears little chance of Lascelles leaving the North-East outfit midway through the campaign, but much could depend on if Rafael Benitez is required to generate his own transfer funds, having been provided with little money before the start of the season.
