Report: Chelsea striker Islam Feruz to cut short Hibernian loan

Chelsea striker Islam Feruz is reportedly preparing to cut short his season-long loan deal at Hibernian, alerting some Championship sides to his availability.

Chelsea striker Islam Feruz is reportedly preparing to cut short his season-long loan deal at Scottish Championship side Hibernian.

The 20-year-old, who moved to Easter Road in the summer, has made just five substitute appearances for the Edinburgh outfit so far this season.

According to the Daily Mail, the Somali-born player will terminate his loan agreement in January, meaning that Championship sides Derby County, Fulham and Preston North End could be tempted to revive their interest in the forward.

The newspaper also suggests that Bolton Wanderers hold an interest in Feruz, although a January move to the Reebok Stadium is unlikely given the club's financial situation.

Feruz, who was a member of Celtic's academy from 2005 to 2011, has scored two goals in four international appearances for Scotland Under-21s.
