Bayern Munich defender David Alaba reportedly rejects the chance to move to Chelsea given his desire to play in La Liga with Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has supposedly turned down the opportunity to move to Chelsea this summer.

The versatile defender has already confirmed that he will be moving on when his existing deal in Bavaria expires at the end of the campaign, and he will not be short of suitors in the upcoming transfer window.

Alaba can already agree pre-contract deals with clubs elsewhere, and Chelsea were one of the top European sides believed to be vying for the Austria international's signature.

However, Sky Deutschland claims that Alaba has rejected Thomas Tuchel's advances and is also against a move to Manchester City, with the defender not keen on playing in the Premier League.

Real Madrid are understood to be at the head of the queue for the Bayern man's signature, and the report adds that he wants to ply his trade in La Liga, but Los Blancos will inevitably face competition from Barcelona.

Alaba has remained a key player for Bayern this term despite his contract situation, scoring two goals and assisting three more in 35 appearances for Hansi Flick's side across all competitions.
