Chelsea defender David Luiz prefers Barcelona move over Real Madrid?

Chelsea defender David Luiz reportedly prefers to join Barcelona over a switch to Real Madrid, if he is allowed to leave Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea defender David Luiz has reportedly decided that he would like to join Barcelona if he is given permission to leave Stamford Bridge.

Luiz has spent the past month on the sidelines due to an ongoing knee problem, but the 30-year-old had allegedly fallen out with head coach Antonio Conte before his injury.

The apparent disagreement has led to interest from a number of European football's biggest clubs, including Real Madrid who are said to be in the market for new players in January.

However, according to Don Balon, Luiz would prefer to join Barcelona at some point in 2018, rather than complete a switch to the Bernabeu.

The Catalan giants could be looking to sign a new defender in January, with Javier Mascherano expected to complete a move to the Chinese Super League.

Luiz has made 12 appearances for Chelsea this season, but just one of those outings has come since the start of November.
