Drogba dismisses Europe return

Former Chelsea forward Didier Drogba has played down rumours that he will return to play in Europe.

The Ivorian won the Champions League for the Blues with his final touch of the ball for the club back in May, before joining Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua in the summer.

The 34-year-old has been linked with a move to Barcelona, Juventus and AC Milan in recent times, but Drogba insists that a switch back to Europe is not on the horizon.

"People talk too much, they are all on alert regarding rumours about my future," Drogba told Eurosport.

"In reality, no club has contacted me directly.

"I have a contract here in Shanghai and at the moment I'm enjoying my holiday before the African Cup of Nations."

Drogba spent eight years at Stamford Bridge after joining the club from Marseille for £24m in July 2004.
