Report: Radamel Falcao's move from Chelsea to Atletico Madrid falls through

Radamel Falcao's proposed move to Atletico Madrid reportedly collapses due to the Spanish club's failure to offload Jackson Martinez.

Chelsea outcast Radamel Falcao has reportedly missed out on returning to former club Atletico Madrid.

The Colombian international, who joined the Blues on loan from AS Monaco in the summer, has had limited first-team action due to injuries and a lack of form.

The 29-year-old's parent club are reportedly not keen to bring back the striker, who also had a torrid loan spell at Manchester United last season having scored just four goals for the Red Devils.

Reports emerged on Monday claiming that Falcao was in talks to return to Atletico, where he spent two years of his career.

However, according to BBC Sport, the transfer has been scuppered as Jackson Martinez has failed to complete a move from Atletico to a Chinese club.

The report adds that Falcao is likely to stay with Chelsea until the end of the season.
