Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is "pretty confident" that his club will be able to land their top targets during the summer window, even if they miss out on the Champions League.
The Reds have already dropped their interest in Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham due to the cost of the deal, with the England international now seemingly heading for Real Madrid.
Liverpool are preparing for a busy window, with Brighton & Hove Albion's Alexis Mac Allister and Chelsea's Mason Mount believed to be among their midfield targets.
At least two central midfielders will be signed this summer, with Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain preparing to depart Anfield at the end of their contracts.
Liverpool are only one point behind fourth-placed Manchester United in the race for Champions League football, but the Red Devils have two games in hand on their rivals.

Klopp has insisted that his club will not be able to pay through the roof for new signings this summer, but the German is "confident" that his main targets will arrive at Anfield.
"We cannot buy the player then. If they are overpriced we cannot do it. But we will bring in players, I am pretty sure we will bring in the players we want and those who will help us. I am pretty confident of that," Klopp told reporters.
"You never know 100% until they are signed, but that is not new that some clubs might try that.
"Let me say it like this: you identify a position and you have not only one option on the position. That means they (are) all really good.

"You might have a favourite but if the other club doesn't want to sell or someone else will pay the price that we cannot go with it, but usually we got the players we wanted. The one thing is can we afford them and then they are here."
Mac Allister has been in impressive form for Brighton during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 11 goals and registering two assists in 34 appearances in all competitions.
The 24-year-old also played a key role in Argentina winning the 2022 World Cup, and he is said to be 'very keen' to make the move to Liverpool during the summer window.
Mount also continues to be heavily linked with a move to Anfield, with the England international seemingly preparing to leave Stamford Bridge during the upcoming market.
Liverpool's final three Premier League matches of the season are against Leicester City (A), Aston Villa (H) and Southampton (A).
