Callum Hudson-Odoi will reportedly sign a new contract with Chelsea if Frank Lampard is appointed as the club's new manager.
The Blues confirmed on Sunday that Maurizio Sarri had departed the club to link up with Juventus, leaving the West Londoners to find a replacement as soon as possible.
An official approach is expected to be made to Derby County for Lampard, who made 648 appearances for Chelsea during a 13-year playing career at Stamford Bridge.
The arrival of the 40-year-old could put the Premier League side in a position where they could successfully hand Hudson-Odoi an extension to his contract, which expires next year.
The Daily Mail claims that the 19-year-old would be more inclined to pen fresh terms should he be able to play under Lampard and Jody Morris, whom he has previously worked under in Chelsea's academy setup.
The England international is currently sidelined with an Achilles injury.
