Liverpool have reportedly pulled out of the running to sign Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker from Roma due to his hefty valuation.
The Reds had prioritised bringing in the 25-year-old this summer due to growing concerns over Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet between the sticks.
After being joined by Real Madrid and Chelsea in the race to land the 26-cap Brazil international, however, which has subsequently driven up his asking price, Sky Sports News claims that Liverpool will now look elsewhere.
Roma are holding out for £80m for Alisson, who wants his future resolved by the end of this week, and the same report suggests that Madrid are willing to pay that sum to make him the most expensive keeper in world football.
However, Los Blancos are also big fans of Thibaut Courtois and may instead opt to move for the Belgian, which would in turn make Alisson Chelsea's number-one target.
Only Napoli's Pepe Reina registered more Serie A clean sheets than the Roma stopper's 17 last season.
