Belgium forward Romelu Lukaku will be in London on Wednesday night to sign his contract with Chelsea, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues have allegedly agreed a £97.5m deal with Inter Milan for the transfer of the 28-year-old, who is set for a second spell at Stamford Bridge, having previously represented the club between 2011 and 2014.
According to Romano, Lukaku is due to fly to London 'in the next few hours' to sign his deal with Thomas Tuchel's side, meaning that he could potentially feature in Saturday's Premier League opener against Crystal Palace.
The journalist claims that the paperwork between the two clubs has now been completed, allowing the centre-forward to make the trip to England.
Lukaku had emerged as Chelsea's leading transfer target in the final third of the field after it became clear that Borussia Dortmund would be keeping Erling Braut Haaland for at least another 12 months.
The Belgian has scored 64 goals in 95 appearances for Inter over the last two seasons, while he netted 113 times in 252 Premier League outings during spells with Everton, West Bromwich Albion and Manchester United.
