Manchester City will be expected to earn a percentage of Daniel Sturridge's £12m transfer fee ahead of the Chelsea striker's proposed move to Liverpool.
The 23-year-old is reported to have all but signed a contract with the Reds following two years at Stamford Bridge.
City could now receive £1.7m after it was agreed at a tribunal that they would be entitled to a 15% cut of any future profit that Chelsea made on their former player, according to The Sun.
Blues interim boss Rafael Benitez revealed on Sunday that Sturridge was nearing a move to Liverpool.
