Midfielder Danny Drinkwater reveals that he is determined to push for a start in Chelsea's first team next season, where he has "unfinished business".

Midfielder Danny Drinkwater has revealed that he wants to return to parent club Chelsea at the end of the season in order to attend to "unfinished business" at Stamford Bridge.

Drinkwater is currently on loan at Kasimpasa where he is yet to play a full 90 minutes, registering seven appearances and failing to score or assist any goals for the Turkish side.

The England international moved to his parent club Chelsea from Leicester City for £35m in January 2017 but has not played a game for the Blues since the 2018-19 Community Shield against Manchester City.

However, Drinkwater told Elmatch Program, that he is determined to still push for a start in the Chelsea team: "I want to continue with Chelsea. I feel like I have unfinished business with this club.

"My time at Chelsea has been nothing but frustrating. It is a weird position that I am in. It is definitely different but I don't think I am the first, nor will I be the last. This is part of football.

"I keep working hard, I keep grafting and I am doing the right things at the right times and I need to stay injury free and see where it takes me. It is a short career so I need to keep doing the right things and hope things turn around."

The 31-year-old, who was a key player in Leicester's 2015-16 Premier League winning year, has only made 23 appearances since joining Chelsea.
