Crystal Palace 'pull out of race to sign Charlie Austin'

Crystal Palace chiefs are reportedly unwilling to offer the funds manager Alan Pardew requires to sign £15m-rated Charlie Austin from Queens Park Rangers.

Crystal Palace's board are unwilling to break the bank to land Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin, according to a report.

Eagles boss Alan Pardew is said to be keen on signing the 25-year-old, but his rumoured £15m asking price is putting club chiefs off making a move.

The Daily Mirror claims that Palace will now drop out of the race to sign England hopeful Austin, who scored 18 goals for QPR in the Premier League last season.

Newcastle United are also thought to have turned their attention elsewhere, although both West Ham United and Chelsea are still said to be interested.
