Portland Timbers owner Merritt Paulson has revealed that he is interested in bringing Chelsea striker Didier Drogba to Major League Soccer.
Doubts remain over the future of the 36-year-old, who has been linked with a coaching role at Stamford Bridge should he decide to retire when his contract expires at the end of the current season.
Paulson admits that his side would be interested in signing the Ivorian, but he is unsure whether a move is feasible.
"Drogba is a unique guy who, despite his age, is uniquely skilled to clean up in MLS," Paulson told reporters. "The League almost signed him a couple years ago and I know my coach would love him to be a Timber, but I highly doubt it at this point."
Since returning to Chelsea in the summer, Drogba has scored six goals in 22 appearances in all competitions.
