Liverpool are reportedly among a number of clubs who will fail in a bid to sign Porto winger Luis Diaz in January.
Having contributed 12 goals and three assists in 15 league appearances this season, the Colombia international has emerged as one of the most sought-after players in Primeira Liga.
In the weeks leading up to the next transfer window, it has been suggested that Porto may be prepared to cash in on their most prized asset.
However, speaking to The Reach PLC Transfer Window Podcast, transfer expert Duncan Castles has predicted that the Portuguese giants will retain the services of the 24-year-old.
Castles said: "The difficulty for January is that I'm told Porto will not sell mid-season. He's too important to the team, would be unacceptable to the Porto supporters and they want to win the Portuguese league.
"So they say they've had no direct contact from Liverpool at this stage, they're aware that Liverpool have been in contact with the player but their position is 'we won't sell in January, come back again in the summer'."
Chelsea and Newcastle United have also been linked with an approach for Diaz.
