Real Madrid 'make David Alaba top target to replace Sergio Ramos'

Real Madrid identify Bayern Munich's David Alaba as their leading target to replace Sergio Ramos, according to a report.

Real Madrid have reportedly identified Bayern Munich's David Alaba as their leading target to replace Sergio Ramos at the end of the 2020-21 campaign.

Ramos has still not signed a new contract with the Spanish champions, and a recent report claimed that Los Blancos had 'given up' on keeping the Spaniard at the Bernabeu.

Alaba, meanwhile, will see his deal with Bayern expire at the end of June, and a number of clubs continue to be credited with an interest in the Austria international.

According to AS, Zinedine Zidane's side are preparing for Ramos to leave on a free transfer this summer and have made Alaba their top target to replace the veteran centre-back.

The versatile defender has also been linked with Chelsea, who could attempt to beat Madrid to a deal if the Blues lose out to Bayern for RB Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano.

Los Blancos are also said to be interested in signing Sevilla's Jules Kounde.
