Report: Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea battle for Amadou Diawara

A report claims that Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea will battle for the signature of £40m-rated Napoli midfielder Amadou Diawara.

Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea will reportedly go head to head for the signature of £40m-rated Napoli midfielder Amadou Diawara.

The 19-year-old joined Napoli from Bologna in last summer's transfer window and has made six appearances for the Italian side in all competitions this season.

According to The Sun, Chelsea have already contacted Napoli over a move next summer, but Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is also keeping a close eye on developments in Naples.

At the age of 17, Diawara was competing in the fourth tier of Italian football for San Marino, before making the move to Bologna, where he made 35 appearances during his debut season.
