Southampton are reportedly bidding to sign Chelsea youngster Faustino Anjorin on a permanent deal.
During the summer transfer window, the 20-year-old was allowed to join Lokomotiv Moscow on loan with the Russian side possessing the option to sign the playmaker on a full-time basis.
However, prior to fracturing his ankle in November, Anjorin had made just three starts and six substitute outings in all competitions.
A permanent deal is now off the table and according to football.london, Southampton are looking to take advantage of the situation.
The Saints are keen to sign the academy graduate on a permanent basis, and fend off several Championship clubs targeting a loan deal in the process.
With Chelsea said to favour a temporary exit at this stage, much could depend on whether Southampton are prepared to shell out anywhere near the £17m that Lokomotiv were considering paying five months ago.
