Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in 'daily contact' with Lille forward Jonathan David as Ange Postecoglou looks to bring in a recognised goal-scorer ahead of the new season.
Nearly a year has passed since club-record goalscorer England captain Harry Kane departed London in a multi-million-pound deal for Bayern Munich.
Despite Kane's absence, Postecoglou's side managed to perform well in their first season without the England star, securing fifth place in the final league standings, two points behind Aston Villa in fourth.
While Spurs have been linked with David in recent weeks, there is also strong interest in the 24-year-old elsewhere in the Premier League, with Chelsea and West Ham United both keeping tabs on the Lille striker this summer.
However, David's talent has attracted attention not only from Premier League sides, but also from major European clubs, including Roma, who are said to have made contact with the player in recent days.

Postecoglou makes Jonathan David priority signing this summer
According to Football Insider, Postecoglou has prioritised signing a centre-forward this season after Richarlison netted just 11 goals in 28 Premier League appearances last campaign.
The report adds that David is now at the top of the Australian's shortlist of potential candidates and that Spurs are in constant contact with the striker as they prepare an official bid for him this summer.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also recently revealed that Lille president Olivier Letang admitted that David and Leny Yoro are expected to leave the club this summer.
Yoro has since completed a move to Manchester United in a transfer deal believed to be worth around £52m plus add-ons.
David, meanwhile, currently has just 12 months left on his current deal with the Ligue 1 outfit, which explains why the club are looking to sell him this summer, rather than running the risk of letting him leave on a free transfer next year.
It is understood that Lille may be willing to part ways with the attacker for a fee in the region of £25m in the current transfer window.

Spurs looking to improve goal-threat in 2024-25
Finding the back of the net regularly was an issue for Spurs last season, as Postecoglou's side scored 74 goals in 38 games, the seventh-highest tally in the Premier League.
Club captain Son Heung-min had another solid season, scoring 17 times for the Lilywhites, but Postecoglou wants to ease the burden on the South Korean and David could be an ideal option to help share the workload.
The Canadian international has been excellent for Lille since joining from Belgian side Gent in 2020, amassing an impressive 84 goals in 183 appearances for the club.
Last term, the striker scored 26 in 47 matches for the French side in all competitions, with 19 of those coming in Ligue 1.
He was also one of the standout players in his country's Copa America campaign, scoring twice and helping Canada reach the semi-finals before being eliminated by Lionel Messi's Argentina.
