West Ham United are allegedly prepared to rival AC Milan for the signature of soon-to-be free agent Olivier Giroud.
The 34-year-old's contract at Chelsea is due to expire at the end of this month, and he is expected to end his stint in West London with no renewal in sight.
Giroud has been strongly linked with a switch to AC Milan as he prepares to become a free agent, and the Rossoneri are thought to be edging closer to a deal for the veteran striker.
However, Calciomercato claims that West Ham are still hopeful of keeping Giroud in the English capital, with the France international yet to put pen to paper on a deal with Milan.
The report claims that David Moyes is keen to bolster his ranks with European experience before their Europa League campaign next term, but MLS side New York City FC are also keeping tabs on the situation.
Giroud struck 11 goals in 31 appearances for Chelsea last term, with six of those coming in the Blues' successful run to the Champions League crown.
