Wolfsburg: 'Time running out to sign Andre Schurrle from Chelsea'

Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs says that "time is running out" to conclude their deal to sign Andre Schurrle from Chelsea.

Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs has revealed that "time is running out" for the club to sign Andre Schurrle from Chelsea.

The German international is widely expected to join the Bundesliga outfit after a £22.5m deal was reportedly agreed between both parties.

Chelsea's decision to part ways with Schurrle appears to be linked to the impending arrival of Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina.

However, Allofs has suggested that the transfer involving Schurrle could fall through unless the deal gets over the line by 1pm, which is the deadline for new signings to be included on the DFL's transfer list.

"We have not reached an agreement at the moment," Allofs told Wolfsburger Nachrichten. "Time is running out, and there are less and less options from hour to hour."

Wolfsburg recently allowed Ivica Olic to join Hamburg.
