Alvaro Morata is ruled out of Spain's final two 2018 World Cup qualification matches after picking up a hamstring injury while in action for Chelsea.

Alvaro Morata will not represent Spain in their final two 2018 World Cup qualification matches after picking up a hamstring injury while in action for Chelsea at the weekend.

Morata, 24, was forced off in the 35th minute of his club side's 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.

As a result, the former Real Madrid forward will be unavailable for Spain's double header against Albania and Israel, where La Roja will look to secure qualification for next summer's tournament in Russia.

Barcelona's Andres Iniesta is also out after picking up a hamstring injury against Las Palmas on Sunday afternoon, while a heart problem will rule Real Madrid's Dani Carvajal out of the international fixtures.

Spain are currently three points clear of second-placed Italy at the top of Group G with just two rounds of matches left to play.

Real Sociedad's Alvaro Odriozola and Las Palmas's Jonathan Viera are the two new faces in the latest Spain squad.
