Port Vale extend their lead at the top of League Two to four points as promotion rivals Cheltenham Town are denied a win by Bristol Rovers late on.

Port Vale extended their lead at the top of League Two to four points as promotion rivals Cheltenham Town were held in League Two this evening.

Vale came out on top 3-0 against the division's bottom club, AFC Wimbledon, with Lee Hughes opening the scoring before Ashley Vincent netted either side of half-time.

Cheltenham, meanwhile, took the lead against Bristol Rovers in first-half stoppage time through Shaun Harrad but were denied three points in the 95th minute.

Oliver Norburn struck the ball from fully 30 yards and it flew into the top corner to earn Rovers a draw.

Cheltenham still lie in the automatic promotion places in third, but are now 10 points behind Vale.
