Jorge Valdivia wants more of the same from Chile

Jorge Valdivia calls on his Chile teammates to "keep playing good football" following their 3-1 win over Australia at the World Cup.

Chile midfielder Jorge Valdivia has called on his teammates to "keep playing good football" following their win over Australia at the World Cup.

Valdivia was among the goalscorers on Friday night as the Chileans opened their campaign with a 3-1 triumph.

Despite an encounter with defending champions Spain up next for Chile, Valdivia wants his team to continue playing in a positive style.

"It was important to start with a win and to do it in this manner," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"It doesn't matter who the next opponents are, the key is to keep on playing good football. This is for all of the people who have travelled a long way to see us and support us."

Chile meet Spain in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday evening.
