Chivas USA remain rooted to the foot of the MLS Western Conference following a goalless draw with Vancouver Whitecaps at the StubHub Center this morning.
Victory for Wilmer Cabrera's side in Los Angeles would have propelled his troops above San Jose Earthquakes, who sit joint last on 24 points.
Chivas fashioned the first attempt of the encounter, but Erick Torres's bid to fire the hosts ahead was rebuffed by goalkeeper David Ousted on 17 minutes.
The duo met again on the hour mark, with Torres again failing to get the better of the Whitecaps' stopper.
The Guadalajara loanee continued to menace in Vancouver's final third, firing just wide of the mark after Ousted saved well, this time from Mauro Rosales.
It proved to be as close as the Los Angeles-based side came to edging ahead as the Canadians held out for a point.
