Joe Dunne: 'We'll attack Swindon Town'

Joe Dunne vows to send out an attacking-minded side for tonight's match against Swindon.

Colchester United manager Joe Dunne has vowed to set out an attacking side for tonight's visit to the County Ground.

In the reverse fixture last November, opponents Swindon Town fielded no recognised striker, yet the Robins still picked up all three points courtesy of a 2-1 victory.

Despite this, Dunne insists that he will not copy the tactic, and will instead tell his team to attack Mark Cooper's side.

"Swindon have got a lot of talented players," the 40-year-old is quoted as saying by the Gazette and Herald. "When they came to us earlier in the season, they played a certain way. They'll think it worked, because they won the game.

"I probably wouldn't expect the same approach tonight, though. I wouldn't take my side there and do the same thing and I'm going there to win. They probably came to us to win too but I'm going there to attack. I'm not having all of this firepower not to use it and I'll be asking my players to do something they're not comfortable with.

"To bring the best out of my players, I'll continue to ask them to do what they're good at - why would I change? My focus between now and the end of the season is on us and I think that we can go there and cause them problems. We have potency in attack and we have options and back-up in attack. We'll go there and try and win."

Colchester are currently in 14th position in the League One table, while Swindon are eighth ahead of tonight's clash.
