Columbus Crew 2-2 Houston Dynamo

Eddie Gaven nets his 30th goal for Columbus Crew, but it is not enough to claim three points as Brian Ching strikes a late leveller.

A second-half brace from Eddie Gaven was not enough for Columbus Crew as Brian Ching struck late to earn Houston Dynamo a 2-2 draw in an open game at Columbus Crew Stadium.

After a lacklustre opening 45 minutes, the game exploded into life after the break.

Will Bruin put the visitors in front on the hour mark with a close-range header from Adam Moffat's floated corner.

Columbus were level almost immediately as Gaven fired in a sweet left-footed shot from 25 yards that flew into the bottom left corner.

With 16 minutes remaining, the 25-year-old midfielder put his side ahead, netting his 30th goal for the club, but Ching bundled home seven minutes from time to claim a deserved point for Houston.
