Former Newcastle United and Portsmouth striker Lomana LuaLua has called time on his international career with Congo DR.
The 32-year-old took the decision after his country was knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nations last night courtesy of a 1-1 draw with Mali.
"When you don't do well, people start asking questions and sending messages, disrespecting," he told BBC Sport.
"I love my country, but if I knew it was going to be like this, I would have rather stayed at my club. I'm finished, done. I've reached a level. For me, I think this is it, I've completely stopped."
LuaLua currently plays his club football with Turkish side Karabukspor.
