Coventry City have opened up a two-goal lead over managerless Sheffield United after 45 minutes of this afternoon's League One match at a soggy Sixfields.
The Sky Blues went in front after just five minutes when Blair Adams streaked down the left side and crossed for Leon Clarke, who volleyed low past George Long.
Marlon King headed wide for the Blades moments later before the early tempo died down.
Coventry's lead was doubled in the 32nd minute when Carl Baker escaped a couple of challenges before cutting back for Callum Wilson, who picked out the top corner from 12 yards.
It could have been three before the break but Clarke fired over after being found by striker partner Wilson.
As things stand in League One, the Blades, who sacked manager David Weir on Friday, will be going bottom of the table because Tranmere Rovers are beating Bradford City.
