Half-Time Report: Callum Wilson puts Coventry City ahead against Walsall

Callum Wilson scores midway through the first half to put Coventry City 1-0 up against Walsall at half time at Sixfields.

Coventry City have taken a 1-0 lead against Walsall at half time in their League One clash at Sixfields.

Michael Petrasso had the first real chance for the hosts after 15 minutes when he fired from outside the box, but his attempt went wide.

Minutes later Febian Brandy forced Coventry goalkeeper Joe Murphy into a save with a shot from distance.

However, midway through the first half Steven Pressley's side went ahead through Callum Wilson, who latched on to Chuba Akpom's pass and found the target from close range.

Brandy tried his luck to equalise from inside the Coventry box, but his attempt went high and wide.

The home side could have added to their tally had Mark Marshall and Petrasso been able to get past Richard O'Donnell in the Walsall goal in the final 15 minutes of the first half.
