Crawley Town midfielder David Hunt has suffered a broken foot as a result of the challenge which saw Rory Delap sent off, according to Sky Sports News.
Delap was sent off in the 17th minute of Stoke City's 2-0 FA Cup win over the League Two outfit for a lunging tackle on the 29-year-old.
Despite remaining on the field until just after half time, Hunt is now expected to be out of action for six weeks.
As well as disappointing Crawley, the news of the injury comes as a blow to Stoke boss Tony Pulis, whose appeal to overturn his player's suspension may suffer as a result.
Hunt has featured in 26 of Crawley's 28 League games this season.
