Crystal Palace co-owner Steve Parrish has revealed that he will approach Crawley Town to request permission to talk to Steve Coppell.
Coppell is director of football at the League One side, but Parrish is keen to talk to the former Palace manager about returning to the club in some capacity.
Parrish said: "Steve works for Crawley and we need to respect that but I am sure we will be having a conversation with him at the very least.
"I think the situation has got to be right for Steve and he would have to want to do it. I will definitely be speaking to Steve but whether it is as manager, I don't know."
Manager Dougie Freedman left Palace this week to take up the vacant managerial position at Bolton Wanderers.
