Alan Pardew: 'We can frustrate Chelsea'

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew believes that his side have the ability to cause Chelsea problems to stop them winning the Premier League title at Stamford Bridge.

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has insisted that his team will do their utmost to frustrate Chelsea as the Blues attempt to secure the Premier League title.

Jose Mourinho's men can win the top-flight crown for the first time in five years with a victory over the Eagles at Stamford Bridge.

Pardew is adamant that his team have to focus on their job and not allow the occasion to overwhelm their performance as they seek to stop a run of back-to-back defeats.

He told reporters: "Jose always sets the team up with the strengths he has in the squad. He maximises individuals' [abilities].

"Our solution this week has been to work hard. Work on our fitness levels, our technical skills and our team shape. On Tuesday we stopped doing ball work and did some running. I think they enjoyed that!

"They will dominate possession and the two thirds of the pitch that we have to defend, but we carry a threat. We've got to try and produce a performance that doesn't get carried away in the emotion of the day."

Palace play Chelsea on Sunday.
