Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew admits striker struggle

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew jokes that he would like to sign Manchester City's Sergio Aguero after admitting that he is trying to sign a new striker.

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has admitted that he is currently struggling to sign a new striker amid a poor run of form for the Eagles.

The capital side have failed to score in their last five games in the Premier League and were soundly beaten 4-0 at Manchester City on Saturday.

Pardew, however, has claimed that his team, who are eighth in the table, would have won at the Etihad if they had a forward in the mould of Sergio Aguero, who scored twice during the league match.

"Obviously we are trying to bring a striker in. Put Sergio Aguero in our side against Manchester City and I think we would have won that game," Pardew told reporters.

Palace have been strongly linked with a move for former Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who is currently a free agent.
