Crystal Palace have ended their pursuit of Everton midfielder James McCarthy by announcing that they will not be doing any more transfer business before tonight's 11pm deadline.
The Eagles have recruited Steve Mandanda, James Tomkins, Andros Townsend, Christian Benteke and Loic Remy in the summer window.
Today, they attempted to sign Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere on loan, but the England international opted to join Bournemouth for the remainder of the season.
It was reported that Palace intended to make a move for McCarthy if the club failed to land Wilshere, but it appears as though any potential transfer is off.
Forty-five minutes before the close of the transfer window, Palace tweeted: "That's it for us on #DeadlineDay. There'll be no more ins or outs in SE25 tonight. Up the Palace!"
Palace are yet to win a league game this season, having lost two and drawn one.
