Crystal Palace are reportedly planning a late move for Fulham target Darren Bent.
The 29-year-old Aston Villa striker is believed to have agreed terms with Fulham and only a transfer fee is holding up the deal.
According to The Mirror, though, manager Ian Holloway is looking to hijack the move, as well as beating Cardiff City to the signing of Jefferson Montero.
Holloway sees the Ecuadorian as a replacement for Wilfried Zaha and wants to take advantage of a breakdown in talks with Cardiff.
The Palace boss admitted that he is still targeting new faces after securing a deal for Arsenal forward Marouane Chamakh.
The Eagles were beaten 1-0 by Lazio in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
