Dagenham & Redbridge have completed the signing of former West Ham United forward Zavon Hines on a free transfer.
The 24-year-old featured in two pre-season friendlies for the Daggers, before he later went on trial at Coventry City, seemingly ending any chance of a move to Victoria Road.
However, Dagenham manager Wayne Burnett has finally convinced Hines to put pen to paper on a one-year contract.
Burnett told the club's official website: "I am delighted that we have managed to bring Zavon Hines to the football club.
"After miscommunications and lengthy discussions with Zavon, I am convinced that he wants to be a part of this Dagenham and Redbridge.
"He is an exciting talent with unquestionable ability and has a hunger to succeed and I feel we are getting him at a really good stage in his career."
Hines scored three goals in 33 first-team appearances for the Hammers.
