Chris Rolfe scored the only goal of the game to fire DC United to a 1-0 victory over the Montreal Impact in their MLS clash.
The visitors took the lead in the 13th minute when Jairo Arrieta released the run of Rolfe beyond the Montreal defence and he maintained his composure to slot the ball past Evan Bush.
The Impact pushed to get back into the match and Marco Donadel lined up an effort from distance, but Bill Hamid made the save.
Montreal went close again through Andres Romero as he was afforded space and time to fire at goal from the edge of the box, but once again, Hamid was there to save the strike.
Dominic Oduro should have brought his side level before the break when he got in behind the United defence, but Hamid made the stop to keep his effort out, while Steve Birnbaum cleared the rebound.
In the second half, Oduro threatened again when he latched on to a free kick into the box, but his headed effort drifted wide of the post.
The Impact continued to search for an equaliser as Ignacio Piatti unlocked the DC defence when he weaved his way into the box, only to be denied by Hamid.
Hamid secured the win for the visitors as he made one final stop to deny Johan Venegas in the dying minutes at Stade Saputo.
