Last-gasp Fabian Castillo goal downs DC United

Dallas beat DC United 2-1 courtesy of Fabian Castillo's last-minute winner.

Fabian Castillo struck a 92nd-minute winner as Dallas extended their MLS winning streak to four with a last-gasp 2-1 victory over DC United in Texas.

The game looked poised to finish all square after Matt Hedges's own goal cancelled out Kellyn Acosta's 73rd-minute opener. However, the Colombian pounced late on to extend their three-match hot streak.

The hosts started marginally better and almost moved ahead in style, when Acosta's long-range drive whistled narrowly wide of Andrew Dykstra's post on nine minutes.

Dallas stepped it up a notch shortly after when Mauro Diaz's fiercely-struck volley was palmed over the bar by Dykstra.

Castilla could have opened the scoring shortly before the break, but his header from Acosta's pinpoint cross was straight into the arms of the United stopper.

Oscar Pareja's side continued to dominate after the break and Diaz saw his 30-yard hit flash agonisingly wide, while Atiba Harris's header came off the bar on 66 minutes.

The Texans finally broke the deadlock when Acosta turned home David Texeira's cut-back from close range, but Hedges's own goal minutes later undermined them.

Just when it seemed like DC had ended Dallas' three-match winning streak, the ball fell kindly for Castillo in the six-yard box, and the midfielder smashed home to snatch all three points.
