Montreal Impact hold DC United to draw

DC United see their three-game winning run come to an end as they are held to a 1-1 draw by Montreal Impact at the Saputo Stadium

DC United have extended their unbeaten run to nine games after being held to a 1-1 draw by bottom-of-the-table Montreal Impact at the Saputo Stadium.

The home side were ahead shortly before the half-hour mark when Marco Di Vaio, on his final appearance for the club, converted beyond Evan Bush.

Di Vaio came close to adding a second, only to see his effort well kept out as Frank Klopas's charges upped the ante in the second half.

It looked as though Montreal would see out their season with a win until Fabian Espindola popped up with four minutes remaining to level up the game for the division's top-placed side.

The game finished all square, ensuring that United's three-game winning streak came to an end.
